The metallic expansions installed in some ship systems can be of various models and shapes depending on the temperature of the fluid or gas that circulates through the pipes where they are installed.

The shapes and models of the metallic expansions are designed to absorb the linear expansions and contractions produced by the different temperature variations that occur in the circuit where they are mounted; they can also absorb radial movements and vibrations.

The rubber compensators installed in some ship systems can be of various models depending on the chemical characteristics and temperatures of the fluid that will circulate through the pipes where they are installed.

The shapes of the compensators are standard with three variables, the diameter of the pipe, the length and the type of rubber that depends on the fluid and the temperature they have to withstand, normally they can be in “EPDM”, “NBR” and “VITON”.

They are normally installed to absorb both radial vibrations and linear deviations between the fluid or gas circuit and the fixed equipment in operation installed on the vessel.
